What is Identity, and why does it matter?

Where do we get our identity from anyway? Our parents, society through magazine, tv, movies, etc., from friends, teachers, family, the media?  Is it even accurate?

It can be pretty confusing when we are in conflict with our heart, mind and soul. There are SO MANY messages and labels about identity, but are they accurate, true and healthy in order for you for fulfill your younique God-given purpose for love and good works!

Identity & Purpose go hand in hand….when you truly understand, become fully aware of your true God-given identity created in His image, accept your YOUnique and amazing identity you are not fooled by false identifiers, labels and an unhealthy, unproductive focus that would hold you back. Or worse, completely derail and get you off the path you were meant to walk in fulfilling your purpose.

One of the reasons I LOVE our signature coaching program, Identity & Destiny – 7 Steps to a Purpose Filled Life, it’s straightforward approach changed my life. I finally broke through the barrier of FEAR and Self-Doubt. They were major obstacles that I just kept getting stuck in before completing Identity & Destiny. Anyone can do it who is willing to put in the time and discipline of it. Generally, 5 days a week, 15-45 minutes each day, depending on the particular focus of each module.

Basically, 3 parts – Self-Awareness & Acceptance, The Bridge – Overcoming Fears, Blocks, Limiting Beliefs and Lies you’ve believed about yourself, and the Purpose Mosaic.

One really cool aspect of all of this is how positively it can impact the relationships around you as well. When we have a greater understanding and acceptance of ourselves, our true identity & purpose it has a tremendous ripple [...]

Let’s just think…..

Setting aside any and all ideology, long held beliefs, preconceived notions.  Please, just think for a moment and ponder this week the possibilities of this picture.

What is going on in this little girl’s mind?   What is she thinking about as she presses her ear to her mommy’s growing belly?  It’s like she is giving a gentle hug to her sibling so safely protected in their mommy’s womb only millimeters of skin, flesh and tissue separate them from being able to touch skin-to-skin.  Such joy and anticipation!

The unknown world ahead.  The hopes and dreams for a future of possibilities, fear, apprehension can also be a part of this scene.  In God, we have a future and a hope!  We have a future and a hope!  With God, all things are POSSIBLE!

Every human life starts with the framework of being designed, created and born in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27).  When we continue on the path of possibilities with God we abide and remain in his presence, uncorrupted by the world, like the innocence of a child in the womb.  Created for love and good works.

How can the world say that precious life has no value to be protected, loved and nurtured.  Why are we not teaching our young women and men to love and believe the best?  We can create with God what we want to see in the earth, for love and good works.   Every human being is created to BE a POSSIBILITARIAN!  It’s in our true nature, it really is!

As we approach this coming week and reflect on where our world and it’s ideas, let’s think on, promote and do all we can to BE the Change God Wants To See in the World and Become that [...]

Interdependent ~ Interpersonal Intelligence

Interdependent relationships – We are triune beings
We are spirit-soul-body and live fully in interdependent relationships

Reflecting on a recent seminar I attended in San Diego … ERQ: strategies for promoting emotional & relational intelligence – relational & personal competence it has given me a lot of food for thought. The field of interpersonal neurobiology is an emerging field of expertise that intrigues me immensely!  The class focus overall was about interpersonal neurobiology.

My thoughts here are not necessarily a summary of my notes or the course notes – but more an overall contemplative processing.

Intertwining – imago inter-relationship with God, The Divine.

To separate ourselves from The Divine, Our Divine Creator, is separating ourselves from ourself. To divide ourself from the divine is living a divided life, out of sorts, out of balance and harmony.

The Divine came into the world to bring abundant life for humanity by being reunited, renewed, redeemed and transformed into our original imago Divine nature. (John 10:10b)

“If the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace.” Romans 8:6b
“Through the power of the Holy Spirit (of the Divine) – you live. For all who are led by the Holy Spirit (of the Divine) Spirit of God are children of God. ” Romans 8:13b

“For His Divine Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us that we are God’s children.” Romans 8:16

As intertwined-interdependent beings our hearts become more whole as we draw nearer to, not away from, our Divine Creator in pursuit of oneness and wholeness within abiding in Him.

Peace Be With You!

3 words are rattling around (well actual

3 words are rattling around (well actually more!) but 3 that are intertwined and relevant in a number of conversations I have had with various people the last couple of weeks…actually ever since Independence Day. Independence…Interdependence…Codependence.
Let’s start with defining the core word in each…DEPENDENCE. Just fyi, I will be using the American Dictionary of the English Language – Noah Webster 1828. “Reliance; confidence; trust; a resting on. A state of being subject to the will of an intelligent cause, power or operation. Connection by which one thing is sustained by another, in its place, operations, or is affected by it. Inability to sustain itself without the aid of.”
Okay….so foundationally there we are. Now, INDEPENDENCE…
“A state in which a person does not rely on others for subsistence; ability to support one’s self. A state of being not dependent; complete exemption from control, or the power of others. A state of mind in which a person acts without bias or influence from others.”
Interestingly enough, the words INTERDEPENDENCE and CODEPENDENCE were not in the 1828 Noah Webster’s Dictionary.
So, I went to my iPhone app dictionary.
Interdependence…”of two or more people or things dependent on each other.”
Codependence…”excessive emotional or psychological reliance on a partner, typically a partner who requires support due to an illness or addiction.”
It has been interesting how many times these words have come up in random conversations this month. I think partially because we just celebrated America’s Independence Day on July 4th.
But, in the greater scope of things that fact that we are created for relationship. We may have temperaments that are more [...]

30 Years to Closure

30 Years to Closure

10/10/10 was the day I stood before the marble wall of the Northwest Memorial for the Unborn. A bittersweet moment which brought closure to a door in my life that I so wished had NEVER been opened...the door of "Abortion".

30 Years to Closure

As I approached this article’s deadline of October 10th, 2011,  my mind flashes back to one year prior, 10/10/10.   A day which brought a great sense of closure to a healing journey in my life.  I recall standing in front of the marble wall with my husband and loved ones, where hung the engraved bronze plaque memorializing the life of our daughter, Guinevere Rose.  Who’s life had been ended 30 years prior due to the “choice” of abortion.  It was a small intimate gathering.  The memorial was held at the NW Memorial for the Unborn, an affiliate location linked to the National Memorial for the Unborn in Chattanooga, TN.    I chose an abortion as a young, 18 year old naive and scared woman buying the lies the clinic staff told me that cold, drizzly October day.   “It’s just a blob of tissue”, they said.  “It’s not a baby yet.”  They said I’d be fine in a couple days and be able to get on with my life as normal.  Life was never “normal” again.   Little did I know the tangled web those lies would create in my life.As I have reflected, I awakened to the fact that my fiance’ and I were not just planning our future of wedded bliss, or so we thought!  We were planning a cover up of epic proportion.   A cover up that took nearly 23 years to see the light of day.   I can’t think of a more divisive foundational decision a couple could make in the infancy of their life of hope for a lifelong journey together.  Even though PAS (Post-Abortion Syndrome ‘trauma’) is not formally recognized yet certainly doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.  Since coming out of [...]
