Let’s just think…..

Setting aside any and all ideology, long held beliefs, preconceived notions.  Please, just think for a moment and ponder this week the possibilities of this picture.

What is going on in this little girl’s mind?   What is she thinking about as she presses her ear to her mommy’s growing belly?  It’s like she is giving a gentle hug to her sibling so safely protected in their mommy’s womb only millimeters of skin, flesh and tissue separate them from being able to touch skin-to-skin.  Such joy and anticipation!

The unknown world ahead.  The hopes and dreams for a future of possibilities, fear, apprehension can also be a part of this scene.  In God, we have a future and a hope!  We have a future and a hope!  With God, all things are POSSIBLE!

Every human life starts with the framework of being designed, created and born in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27).  When we continue on the path of possibilities with God we abide and remain in his presence, uncorrupted by the world, like the innocence of a child in the womb.  Created for love and good works.

How can the world say that precious life has no value to be protected, loved and nurtured.  Why are we not teaching our young women and men to love and believe the best?  We can create with God what we want to see in the earth, for love and good works.   Every human being is created to BE a POSSIBILITARIAN!  It’s in our true nature, it really is!

As we approach this coming week and reflect on where our world and it’s ideas, let’s think on, promote and do all we can to BE the Change God Wants To See in the World and Become that [...]

Mommy Baby Rescue

Getting the text at 8:15 a.m. “I am at the clinic right now” dropped a lead weight in my gut. Everything in me screamed, “No! Ending the life of your 5 1/2 month old baby in your womb will not solve your problems, it creates new ones!”

We had talked the night before and I shared my story of my abortion trauma experience and the things I so wished I had been told by the abortion clinic – the same one she was sitting in, but 34 years prior.

She didn’t want to go through with the abortion but she hadn’t been given other options either. This appointment was her 5th visit – every time she would walk out of the clinic because in her words, “Why should my baby be punished with a death sentence, he’s done nothing wrong. How could I hurt him like that? I just don’t know what else to do!”

I texted her back to see if we could meet, I will come to you. And would it be ok to bring a friend who is a specialist in open adoptions to at least give her more information about her options. All of them. And also, the known risk factors and aftermath of abortion trauma, especially at 5 1/2 months pregnant. Women Deserve Full Disclosure

I could feel the adrenal rushing through my body as the thought came to my mind, “MommyBabyRescue!” In my mind’s eye I saw an enormous guardian angel standing behind and protecting a pregnant mommy with her hands gently and protectively placed over her burgeoning belly. It was a beautiful picture [...]

Op-ed piece from December 2009 – Very Relevant for now

The rhetoric and contradictions on the subject of abortion and healthcare reform are becoming deafening to the point I believe many are simply tuning it out all together.   Mine is not to question the stories and experiences of women like Susan Silodor opined in the November 27th edition about women’s rights for reproductive choice “teetering on the brink”.  My heart aches for the countless experiences of those who have experienced the trauma of abortion as I have walked this profound life-changing path myself.  Sadly there is a kind of sisterhood, a club that we would surely not have otherwise “chosen” to join.   As I have walked out this journey for the last 29 years since my abortion at the age of 18 I am saddened by the divisiveness, confusion and downright abuse in some cases we have inflicted on each other as we try to come to terms with the facts.  As I take in the plethora of opinions with regards to abortion being included in “healthcare reform”, I want to scream!   It’s as if the powers that be are so bent in one direction.  I see a runaway locomotive headed for a train wreck of mass destruction and it needs to be stopped.   It would be so nice if abortion were as simple as some would like us all to believe.  For the last eight years, beginning with a profound healing journey, I have been researching the multi-faceted impact abortion has had on our world.  What I have discovered has brought me to question the true motives of those who strongly support abortion without limits under the banner of “protecting women’s reproductive rights”.   What about a woman’s right to know the whole truth, [...]

30 Years to Closure

30 Years to Closure

10/10/10 was the day I stood before the marble wall of the Northwest Memorial for the Unborn. A bittersweet moment which brought closure to a door in my life that I so wished had NEVER been opened...the door of "Abortion".

30 Years to Closure

As I approached this article’s deadline of October 10th, 2011,  my mind flashes back to one year prior, 10/10/10.   A day which brought a great sense of closure to a healing journey in my life.  I recall standing in front of the marble wall with my husband and loved ones, where hung the engraved bronze plaque memorializing the life of our daughter, Guinevere Rose.  Who’s life had been ended 30 years prior due to the “choice” of abortion.  It was a small intimate gathering.  The memorial was held at the NW Memorial for the Unborn, an affiliate location linked to the National Memorial for the Unborn in Chattanooga, TN.    I chose an abortion as a young, 18 year old naive and scared woman buying the lies the clinic staff told me that cold, drizzly October day.   “It’s just a blob of tissue”, they said.  “It’s not a baby yet.”  They said I’d be fine in a couple days and be able to get on with my life as normal.  Life was never “normal” again.   Little did I know the tangled web those lies would create in my life.As I have reflected, I awakened to the fact that my fiance’ and I were not just planning our future of wedded bliss, or so we thought!  We were planning a cover up of epic proportion.   A cover up that took nearly 23 years to see the light of day.   I can’t think of a more divisive foundational decision a couple could make in the infancy of their life of hope for a lifelong journey together.  Even though PAS (Post-Abortion Syndrome ‘trauma’) is not formally recognized yet certainly doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.  Since coming out of [...]
