Who in your life have been some of the greatest ENCOURAGERS? There have been people in my life who showed up and gave me the COURAGE to take on another day. They are who ENCOURAGED and inspired me to press on, dig deeper, think higher thoughts, be thankful, pray more fervently, slow down and be still and know that God is the God of the Universe and loves me unconditionally. Goodness gracious! What a roller coaster

Goodness gracious! What a roller coaster of emotions this week! Mother’s Day is supposed to be a time of celebration of MOM and MOTHERHOOD, right?! Don’t get me wrong, I love being a MOM and I LOVE my CHILDREN! In fact, Motherhood is the ultimate profession. A high calling – a profession that can bring out the best and the worst in us right? Builds character for sure!
The emotional roller coaster thing has been a wild ride. It’s been that way for more than 3 decades now. For the majority of that time my emotions were just a mass of confusion. It was only until the spring of 2003 that I was finally able to sort out what that mass and jumble of emotional confusion was all about. Mother’s Day and early May have been tough and I didn’t know why until midway through the healing journey from my past abortion as a scared young woman of 18. My daughter’s birthday would have been around Mother’s Day….it all became so much clearer as the truth unfolded.
You see, no one talked about abortion trauma back then. They tell you you’ll be sad for a couple days so take it easy, sadness will turn to relief and then life can get back to normal. It’s not a baby yet, no big deal – you can have lots more children later when you’re ready. Well, life was never “normal” again!
In fact, the moment I walked out the door of the Lovejoy Surgicenter I walked directly into a prison cell of my soul. [...]

As I was going to sleep last night and pondering a conversation with an amazing young woman, wife and mother that my daughter went to high school with. Thinking about my journey and where America is today on these issues of “LIFE”, “CHOICE”, Pregnancy Care Centers and the amazing help they give women, families vs. abortion clinics. A thought came to mind….simple and life saving, soul saving, heart saving…….”CHOOSE LIFE, NOT LIES!”
The abortion industry LIES to women that it’s no big deal. I was told that, and I have worked with so many women who were told that, “it’s no big deal”. Truth is the moment you walk out of the abortion clinic and you think you are “free”, you are actually walking right into a prison cell of your soul. Abortion is a soul wound….it impacts you spirit-soul-body. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is either just deceived or is just lying to you for whatever reason. We were created for LIFE! I am eternally grateful that Jesus has set me free. So, Please….CHOOSE LIFE, NOT LIES! There is hope and there is help if you are pregnant and you think abortion is your only way out.

U R YOUniquely YOU! Yes, YOU are

That’s right!  No one else on the entire planet who has, is or will ever live, is created just like YOU!  It really is mind blowing to me to try and grasp the concept of how INFINITELY creative God is!

We compare to no one. Yet, we live in a culture that so quickly tries to label us, categorize us, box us in, and compare us to everyone else. When we were really meant to find contentment in who we are as God created us to BE.

Every human BEing has a core originating identity with the blueprint of God’s image.  Yes, God’s image!  So AMAZING!  We are created to LOVE.

Yet, as we journey through this LIFE, if we’re not careful we pick up and start taking on the labels this world gives us. When we don’t “fit” the mold.

One of my favorite authors and mentors is Dr. Caroline Leaf. In her book, The Gift in You, “You were created intentionally. You have been knit together in a particular way. Nothing about you is a surprise to God. He knows you inside and out, and He did not design you to be limited.” “Imagine this: God is eternity and infinity. He gifted each of us with a unique piece of His thinking to achieve a unique purpose He designed us to fulfill. We are more than equipped to deal with life successfully. We have truth-value. Often, when we are grouped into boxes – learning disabled, gifted, right brained, left brained, overachiever, underachiever or any other box which seems to fit nicely at the time – that definition becomes a part of how we see ourselves.”

So, let this truth encourage and empower you to take time today, [...]

Be the Change…

I think we’ve all heard “Be The Change You Want To See In The World” by Ghandi.  It kind of goes along the lines of “treat others the way you want to be treated yourself,” also known as the Golden Rule.  That is of course the way we should live. I think the world would be a more loving and kind place if this was truly how we lived.

I would like to suggest a change in the original Be The Change quote by Ghandi.  How about…
“BE THE CHANGE GOD WANTS TO SEE IN THE WORLD”
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in all of my 51 years of life, God wants the best for us. He has the answers to all the problems we face if we would only ask Him, seek Him, write down and act on the instructions He gives us.

The other way to know more about what God wants to see in the world is through reading the scriptures. Reading the Gospels, the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Learning about the things God hates, the things we are warned about for our own protection. Reading Proverbs is quite insightful and great in gathering wisdom for living.

It’s sad when I hear how some people hate the scriptures, the Word of God. If they only knew how much God really LOVES them and wants the best for them. Perhaps they’ve never really read them and opened their heart to Holy Spirit inspired word of God.

Perhaps if more of us became the change God wants to see in the world we would all see the changes we need to see in the world.  Through the power, wisdom and truth of the [...]

Vision Overrides Fear and Self Doubt

Without a vision, it is said, people perish.  Wow!  That’s pretty extreme wouldn’t you say?  Perish?  Really?

But when you really think about it and break it down it’s actually quite true. The very word VISION ~ the following definition is one to think on:

FAITH here is turned into VISION there.
To have a VISION deep within, in your gut and to see it through, you’ve got to have FAITH.
A revelation from God; an appearance or exhibition of something supernaturally presented to the mind’s eye.
Something imaginary; the production of fancy.

 

When I got the VISION for LifeVictory more than ten years ago I truly believe at a deep core level, it saved my life. I was on empty.

What God planted as a seed into the soil my heart in the Spring of 2003 has grown into something so dear and precious in my relationship with God. I knew then too that it wasn’t just for me. He had a greater purpose for what He was going to unfold as I made myself ready to receive the fullness of the gift He wanted to give me.

But, as the title speaks of Fear and Self-Doubt, this journey has been one of overcoming many fears and deep, very personal self-doubt. In the beginning stages I didn’t know really what that was or looked like as it presented itself in my life.

LifeVictory has become a symbol of LOVE, Redemption, Transformation and HOPE!  Out of my greatest personal tragedy, of which I will always carry a scar, I found healing, renewed outlook that once again could consider the infinite possibilities!

Breaking through lies, fear, torment, nightmares, confusion, disillusionment, grief and trauma. By God’s lavishly amazing grace, forgiveness, and restorative LOVE [...]

Happy May Day! May is ENCOURAGE AND EMPO

Happy May Day! May is ENCOURAGE AND EMPOWER month here at L.I.F.E.V.I.C.T.O.R.Y! I remember as a child going around picking flowers in the fields near our home and making little paper baskets and coloring them with pretty designs. We would fill the baskets with flowers and take them to our neighbors, hang them on the doorknob, ring the doorbell and run! Not quite sure where that started except from the phrase “April Showers bring May Flowers” – so May 1st celebrates the full bloom of Spring.
