Be The Change God Wants To See In The World
What a great USANA call last night with Dr. Oz and Personal Trainer Kathy Kaehler. A few great tips!! Great way to start the new year is to avoid holiday weight gain. How is that done?! Before going to those holiday parties:
Do a protein load beforehand, ie., protein shake, protein bar, eggs, nuts.
Get sleep!
Avoid simple “white” carbs – they put fat around your mid section (health risk).
Eat some type of protein within one hour of waking every morning
Incorporate low glycemic foods in your eating habits
FITNESS – keep it simple, don’t avoid it.
Daily – walk briskly 15 minutes – everyone has 15 minutes – treadmill/outside/wherever!
bicycle crunches, 1 minute jumping jacks, pushups/wall pushups
Move, move, move your body….you’ll feel better and more alert.
Most importantly, for your soul and spirit……daily prayer, quiet time with God alone, meditate on His Word.
Get ready for the upcoming…..Destination Transformation! http://ow.ly/fUGvK
The rhetoric and contradictions on the subject of abortion and healthcare reform are becoming deafening to the point I believe many are simply tuning it out all together. Mine is not to question the stories and experiences of women like Susan Silodor opined in the November 27th edition about women’s rights for reproductive choice “teetering on the brink”. My heart aches for the countless experiences of those who have experienced the trauma of abortion as I have walked this profound life-changing path myself. Sadly there is a kind of sisterhood, a club that we would surely not have otherwise “chosen” to join. As I have walked out this journey for the last 29 years since my abortion at the age of 18 I am saddened by the divisiveness, confusion and downright abuse in some cases we have inflicted on each other as we try to come to terms with the facts. As I take in the plethora of opinions with regards to abortion being included in “healthcare reform”, I want to scream! It’s as if the powers that be are so bent in one direction. I see a runaway locomotive headed for a train wreck of mass destruction and it needs to be stopped. It would be so nice if abortion were as simple as some would like us all to believe. For the last eight years, beginning with a profound healing journey, I have been researching the multi-faceted impact abortion has had on our world. What I have discovered has brought me to question the true motives of those who strongly support abortion without limits under the banner of “protecting women’s reproductive rights”. What about a woman’s right to know the whole truth, [...]

My heart ached, tears streamed down my face as I listened to the heart felt story of family loss. A young woman of 50, yes 50 is young! As the story unfolded, and this dear lady shared the news of the funeral of her husband’s sister, who lost her battle with breast cancer. As the days after the woman’s death passed and the story of a deep, heavy silent pain and sadness were revealed, linking the difficult and destructive life patterns that began soon after an abortion as a young woman. Although at that time I believe there was very little known, nor research confirming abortion trauma leaving a lasting and, often destructive footprint in a women’s soul. There is mounting worldwide research of the physical, emotional/mental, and spiritual impact of abortion. http://afterabortion.org/1999/abortion-complications/The ABC (Abortion Breast Cancer) Link is very real and self evident as open minded, common sense discussion of the physiology of the female breast is fully taken into account. http://bcpinstitute.org/epidemiology_studies_bcpi.htmWe can do so much better than allowing the coverup of the truth to continue in the media, Planned Parenthood, President Obama’s blank check endorsement of them, Health and Human Services division (HHS), NIH, Susan G. Komen, the APA (American Psychological Association) and others. Women Deserve Better! As I continue to hear stories like this family’s tragic loss and a life riddled by the hidden grief and loss of a child from abortion, I am more determined and committed to bringing the truth to light of the full spectrum impact abortion has on a woman’s life. Thanks for your time!

It doesn’t happen often that I can’t sleep. As I tried and tried to just settle my mind, I just felt an overwhelming urge to cry, let my emotions spill out and relieve the stress I was feeling. It had been a pretty rough week hearing stories of lives lost to abortion, healing so desperately being sought out, by some, complete calloused denial for others. The bright spot in the week was the Loving Life luncheon with a room of 30 kind, caring and loving individuals who have a deep desire to help bring a movement of reconciliation to our little county of Yamhill, Oregon. What an answer to prayer!
As I prayed through it and asked God what “THAT” was all about, there was an overwhelming sense that that very night 32 years ago, August 15th, that I became pregnant with our first child, our daughter which we only months later chose to end her life through abortion. It’s funny how our soul has such a memory that almost seems to be a part of our inner life record, almost becoming part of our DNA until it comes to a point of reconciliation. So, as I slipped out from under the bed sheets next to my fast-asleep hubby, glancing at the illuminated clock face with a time of 11:37 p.m. I grabbed my note pad wandered down the dark hallway to the quiet living room turned on the dimmer switch light, plopped down on the comfy leather sofa, propping the pillows underneath me, this is what came forth.
How can it be that we have strayed so incredibly far from the image we were created to [...]
I want to keep this very brief. Last week I read a petition from an organization asking for support, trying to force the Boy Scout organization to change policy about the gay issue. When people choose to join the Boy Scouts Of America organization they know what they stand for and you agree to follow a code of conduct which is very clearly stated. If you don’t like what they stand for, don’t join, it is voluntary. You know before you sign on the dotted line what they stand for. If you don’t like them, go start your own organization. You have the freedom to do that in America still, at least for now.
For those who sign up under fall pretense and deceit thinking you will get in there and change policy, you have broken the rules and the code of conduct right off the bat. The Boy Scouts of America teach about honesty, integrity, character and being morally straight. So if you lied to get in and are not willing to abide by the code of conduct, you need to resign, you should not be leading our young men. Leave the Boy Scouts alone. Thank you!
